Best Beard Trimmer Kits : Beard Trimming Guides, Tips and Tools

With winter coming on, beards are IN. Mens Beards are NOW. Beards are HOT. Well… Once you grow a beard in and can start to trim shape and style it.

I noticed over at my Manscaping and Body Groomer site that beyond body razors and shavers — beards, mustaches and goatees — and what facial hair clippers and trimmers are best for the job are high on their radar.

Of note, guys and Bears who keep and shape a full bushy beard really ought to go for a traditional AC home hair clipper set with plenty of long guides up to a full inch. Alternately those with ‘neat’ beards are more than happy with conventional beard and mustache trimmer sets with typically shorter maximum length settings.

The best goatee trimmers can be either – but getting and keeping a symetrical, clean, well-edged Goatee (and sideburns) is where an AC powered  fine-toothed T-Finisher or ‘edger’ is critical and a worthwhile long-term investment for precise lines. Oster, Andis and Wahl in particular offer the best barbershop quality T-Edgers with top-quality blades that will serve you well for years to come.

Many men will have their whisker grooming needs met by versatile cordless/rechargable kits with swappable nose, ear heads, snap-on guide combs, perhaps mult-blade options. But all of these have rather lightweight, less than precision blades that won’t hold up well for years to come. Norelco, Philips, and – (my least favorite) Conair – just don’t have the build quality to last for years – nor the sheer HORSEPOWER you’ll get from a corded, AC powered clipper-trimmer.
